Concerning Gian Galeazzo's death in 1494 (Pavia), Italian historian Francesco Guicciardini (1483-1540) had to say in his La Historia di Italia (The History of Italy):
The rumor was widespread that Giovan Galeazzo's death had been provoked by immoderate coitus; nevertheless, it was widely believed throughout Italy that he had died not through natural illness nor as a result of incontinence, but had been poisoned... one of the royal physicians...asserted that he had seen manifest signs of it. Nor was there anyone who doubted that if it had been poison, it had been administered through his uncle Ludovico Sforza's machinations...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galeazzo_Maria_Sforza (January 24, 1444 – assassinated, December 26, 1476) was Duke of Milan from 1466 until his death. He was famous for being lustful, cruel and tyrannical.
Reputation
Despite his love of music, Galeazzo Sforza is also known to have had a cruel streak. He was a notorious womanizer who often passed his women on to his courtiers once he was tired of them. Sforza once had a poacher executed by forcing him to swallow an entire hare (with fur intact), and had another man nailed alive to his coffin. He also had a priest who predicted a short reign for Sforza punished by being starved to death. This made him many enemies in Milan. It was also said of Galeazzo Sforza that he had raped the wives and daughters of numerous Milanese nobles, that he took sadistic pleasure in devising tortures for men who had offended him, and that he enjoyed pulling apart the limbs of his enemies with his own hands.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isabella_of_Naples
In the 1970s Robert Payne<2> was the first to suggest that Isabella was the subject of the Mona Lisa, the portrait by Leonardo da Vinci whose subject was traditionally thought to be Lisa Gherardini or Lisa del Giocondo. In 2003 historian Maike Vogt-Lüerssen concurred with Payne and argued that the subject was a member of the House of Sforza because of the pattern on the subject's dark green dress.<3> The 2005 discovery of a note by Agostino Vespucci is commonly used to diminish this theory.<4> However, since Vespucci does not provide any description of the painting, it could refer to any of Leonardo's female portrait paintings of that time.<5>
