Немного не так, замена «л» - «r» + «in» - юс. Малый – МЛ – M (N) L – M (N) R – minor; объяснение из “minus” (μινυός) никак не получиться, в виду необъяснимости «n» (ν)
Вполне возможно, что здесь вмешалось и слово «минул»
