Forgery for american audience, March 2, 2004 Reviewer: A reader It's a pity that Fomenko found some stupid enough publisher to stream his texts onto the poor heads of Americans. Though I understand that it may be successive commercial project as it is in Russia. Russians are suffering from Fomenko's innumerable irresponsible writings for more than 2 decades. Several books and a lot of articles have been published in response, by astronomers, physicists, mathematicians, historians, linguists showing step by step, argument by argument that his statistics is simple data massaging, that his astronomy - is just a collection of ridiculous amateurish errors, that his historical "reconstructions" are just clever (not always) manipulations with fragments from secondary texts. Blaiming protestant Scaliger and jesuit Petavius for joint invention of ancient history, Fomenko didn't bothered to read a single page from their works.
If the publisher indeed wants to publish counterarguments, he should simply translate one of such books (for example: "Myths of the New Chronology" or "Astronomy against New Chronology").
But in fact I even think that simple translation of excerpts from Fomenko's latest books about Russian global world Empire of the past (yes, he is in fact Russian nationalist), where there is no math and astronomy, would be enough. (The books: "Empire" and "Russia-Horde on the pages of biblical books"). For example -American Indians are ancestors of Russian Kazaks, Moses - is Russian Leader suppressing rebellions in Western Europe, Egyptian pyramids are graves of Russian Dukes etc. I seriously doubt that Fomenko himself would like to see these chapters translated for the western readers.

Hard to believe, January 8, 2004 Reviewer: A reader from Europe The book claims that Jesus was born and crucified in the 11th Century. If that be the case, how can the author explain the numerous references to Jesus and Christians in the Koran, which was written in the 7th Century? There is even a whole chapter named after Mary!
Can I have the $10,000 from the publishers now please?! --This text refers to the Paperback edition

Think different, or think as you like... But THINK!, January 5, 2004 Reviewer: Mr Paul BONDAROVSKI (see more about me) from Cergy-Pontoise, France From the very beginning and on, the history was written to serve the ruling dynasties, and later re-written and revised to better serve every new prince, king or czar. The mighty kings of the past are just slaves of those of the present, who in their turn will become slaves of those who will rule the world in the future. It is just evident. So, history can only be called a science if (at least) it tries to find out the particles of truth in this fairy tale called historical chronology. Mr Fomenko doesn't pretend to have found this truth. He simply gives us an enormous, incredible number of examples of "historical facts" which are quite identical from one ruling dynasty to another, from one nation to another, as if they were photocopies of the same original. It's up to the reader to make the conclusions, to take a new look at all he thought to be The History. Every nation has its own, different "history" of the Second World War. Which one is true? By the way, dear Sir who represents the Princeton University, Mr Fomenko says Jesus was born 1000 years ago, not 100, as you say. Though, of course, you are free to say what you think. Just think! Please... --This text refers to the Paperback edition

History as profession, January 3, 2004 Reviewer: lisa-f from Detroit Bravo to the reader from the USA! Bravissimo! You are a professional historian. Very high grade venom. Yes, history is a PROFESSION, a MYSTERY, not a Science. After 300 years of good run for their money historians are invited to produce facts. Will make anybody scream. Shame on Fomenko for unveiling History, for naked it stands. Bravo!Encore! --This text refers to the Paperback edition

boringly stupid premise, January 1, 2004 Reviewer: A reader from USA There's more to historic truth than c-14 dating (though that is usually reliable, let's set it aside for a second). The spread of cultures, religions, and especially languages, and their evolution, that alone would be able to disprove such horrendously exploitative "study". File it alternately under conspiracy theories, sub-heading: hopeless cases, or charlatanerie, sub-heading: poisonous.

Cool Historian, December 12, 2003 Reviewer: Daniel Tanner from Montpellier Dear Diamond Robert of Princeton, Don`t be rude, just add more venom in your argument. Otherwise no Princeton lecturer of history will give you extra credits for attacking Fomenko the Heretic. For Christ`s sake don`t touch C14, it is both radioactive and contradictory, there too many of +/-1000 anno dating errors. Tell all your friends and relations NEVER talk, read or even think about FOMENKO, it is a real thought crime. --This text refers to the Paperback edition

A Hardbound Boldfaced Lie, December 12, 2003 Reviewer: robertdiamond from Princeton University Anyone stupid enough to buy this book deserves to loose there money. Written by a mathematician from Russia ( a country famous for its verisimilitude and intellectual honesty) this book is pure, unmitigated tripe, fabrication and illogical presumption. I don't know about Russia but in the rest of the universe the half life of Carbon 14 is 5730 years. That means that when the organic carbon 14 is found to be half over 37% decayed in a the wooden foundation of the Pantheon, it was built in 2nd century...no two ways about it its a law of physics. Fomenko is lying to you and charging you for it. He claims the Egyptian empire is only 100 years old. Tell me Anatoly you lying rat, how do you explain the geophysical correspondence in flooding patters from 500 years ago to those written, in stone on the walls of Matsabas. How do you explain the presence of organic remains with Carbon 14 decayed 50% in Egyptian tombs...that makes them almost 3000 years old. How do you explain the recording of Alexander the Greats empire as being approximately 2300 years ago in Indian, Egyptian, Arabian and Central Asian records if all the fabricating historians were European. How do you explain the reference to Plato and Aristotle in Muslim ORIGINAL records from 700's ad, marking the year as 87 in the Muslim calendar no less.
His most ridiculous claim is that Christ was born 100 years ago. Well, how do you explain that the armies of Mohammed and Abu Bakr, armies of the 7th century (a FRIGGIN d) recorded storming and burning Christian churches. Whets even better is that we have multiple independent verification, through carbon records, astronomical records and cultural records of Islams birth 1400 years ago.
Mr Fomenko. Im 19 years old and I wrote this review of the top of my head. I didnt even have to research it. If i did i could provide numerous more examples of why your work is absolute tripe. You have the brain of a retarded monkey. I truly pity you, you sad sad fool.

It Is Priceless!, November 16, 2003 Reviewer: baheb from Saskatoon, Canada Had no intention to buy this History initially. Then I saw the ultra-negative review entitled "Worthless". I looked into the contents of "Fiction or Science" just in case, for such vehement negation is bound to hide something. Was thoroughly impressed and bought it. Am reading it currently. Shocking, but really worth my dollars. According to Henry Ford, 'History is bunk'. The Russian mathematician seems to have proved it.

Worthless, November 11, 2003 Reviewer: A reader from United States Stay away from this one...Everything in this book is based on the authors own perceptions which are dillusional at best. These people need professional help, and this book needs to find its way to the junkyard. For lack of a better word, this book is just plain stupid!! --This text refers to the Paperback edition

Revealing opus about history's greatest hoax, October 11, 2003 Reviewer: potya (see more about me) from Paris, France A book that certainly is worth reading! I gulped the more than 500 pages down in one week and still feel the urge to have some more of its merciless revealings about history as we are taught. I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that after having read this one, you don't believe neither in "ancient" Rome, Greece etc., nor in "Dark" ages! It is very well written - academically, and not boring at all. Extremely interesting illustrations and quotes that prove the author's really daring conclusions. I hope the next volume will be published soon! --This text refers to the Paperback edition
