Да, получается так! Страбон, Эратосфен, Oneficritus (кто такой?) и Плиний спорили об этом названии. Далее он как-то странно витиевато мутно пишет, что какой-нибудь Эдип shall bewray, т.е. невольно выдаст, разгласит (?) может быть и другие названия, сохранившиеся от старых авторов? Интересно, насколько старых по отношению к Джону Герарду (1545–1611 or 1612)?
"В Англии его называли турецкое зерно и турецкая пшеница..." Значит оно и в Англию шло через Турцию, через Османов-Атаманов?
