China sent over fake Qin terracotta warriors.

On 13 December, the Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Bureau finally issued a formal statement on its website. Aside from confirming that the pieces on display in Hamburg were reproductions, it emphasized that the Bureau was "completely ignorant" of the matter and was not one of the sponsors. An exhibition of fake terracotta warriors went on for twenty days before the Chinese cultural departments reacted.
