interrupt – прерывать, обрывать, нарушать
interrupt (v.) (вторгаться на основании закона); из латинского «interruptus», причастия настоящего времени от «interrumpere» - распадаться; из «inter-» - между + «rumpere» - ломать, разбивать c.1400, "to interfere with a legal right," from Latin interruptus, past participle of interrumpere "break apart, break off," from inter- "between" (see inter-) + rumpere "to break" (see rupture (n.), and compare corrupt). Meaning "to break into (a speech, etc.)" is early 15c. Related: Interrupted; interrupting.
rupture (n.) (разрыв, разлом, грыжа); из латинского «rupture» - разрыв, перелом, из причастия настоящего времени «rumpere» - разбивать, ломать; из PIE *reup- хватать, урывать late 14c., originally medical, from Latin ruptura "the breaking (of an arm or leg), fracture," from past participle stem of rumpere "to break," from PIE *reup- "to snatch" (see rip (v.)). Specifically as "abdominal hernia" from early 15c.
rip (v.) (разрезать, распарывать, распиливать вдоль волокон); возможно, из североморского германского; из протогерманского *rupjan-, из PIE корня *reup-, *reub- хватать, урывать "tear apart," c.1400, probably of North Sea Germanic origin (compare Flemish rippen "strip off roughly," Frisian rippe "to tear, rip") or else from a Scandinavian source (compare Swedish reppa, Danish rippe "to tear, rip"). In either case, from Proto-Germanic *rupjan-, from PIE root *reup-, *reub- "to snatch." Meaning "to slash open" is from 1570s. Related: Ripped; ripping.
corrupt (adj.) (развращать, разлагать, подкупать); из старофранцузского «corropt» - болезненный, развращенный, грубый (о языке); из латинского «corruptus», причастия настоящего времени от «corrumpere» - разрушать, портить, тухнуть, образно – развращать, совращать; из «com-» + «rup-», причастие настоящего времени от «rumpere» - разбивать mid-14c., from Old French corropt "unhealthy, corrupt; uncouth" (of language), and directly from Latin corruptus, past participle of corrumpere "to destroy; spoil," figuratively "corrupt, seduce, bribe," from com-, intensive prefix (see com-), + rup-, past participle stem of rumpere "to break" (see rupture (n.)). Related: Corruptly; corruptness.
RB (L)T – RP (M) (L)T – rumpere (ruptura).
е. «звезды и полосы».
